Park bench

You may not be able to see it very well but this old park bench has the legend FOR THE SICK POOR written on it.  I assume it dates from Victorian times and that this was a philanthropic gesture from either the parish council or an individual.  In all the times I have walked through this park I am not sure I have ever seen anyone sitting on it!
