Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre

The Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre was established in 1971, as a cheetah conservation project. The centre has continued to perform an important role in the preservation and protection of cheetahs and has bred over eight hundred cheetah cubs. 

Formerly known as the De Wildt Cheetah Centre, it is a breeding sanctuary for cheetahs and other endangered animals. It was founded by conservationist Ann van Dyk and is situated in Hartbeespoort, in the foothills of the Magaliesberg, not far from Brits.

A number of other creatures are also housed there including African wild dogs, brown hyenas, servals, suni antelopes, riverine rabbits and a population of vultures.
