Giraffe at eye level

The giraffe is a genus of African even-toed ungulate mammals, the tallest living land  animals and the largest ruminants. The adult male reaches a height of 5 – 6 m. Photo taken from a feeding platform which brought us up to eye level.

I was told that if attacked by lions, they respond with their feet. One kick landed on a lion is usually fatal resulting in death within a few days from the injury. No vets out here to care for injured animals! Most injuries tend to have fatal consequences.
