A birthday outing to town where we ate beef from Belted Galloways at Belted Burgers washed down with a pint of the St Mungo from Glasgow. Then a wander through the gardens up to the Lawnmarket to buy a bottle of 12yr old Caol Ila from Islay. 

Then to the Writers' Museum in Lady Stair's House to escape the bustle outside where tourists perused garish tartan scarves.
