Iggle Piggle

Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy. Two characters I get the feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of in the months/years to come.

Today's blurry blip pic shows Audrey mesmerised by In The Night Garden. She's been noticing the TV a lot more recently and during a rather gruesome ITV drama the other day, I realised it probably wasn't the best choice of baby viewing. Recorded some Iggle Piggle instead for her. She manages about 7 minutes max but is transfixed for the duration. Pretty adorable watching her taking it all in. It seems to blow her tiny mind!

My husband and I went to bed at 9pm last night to help with our exhaustion from the weekend's shenanigans. Think it worked as we weren't quite so zombie-like today.

Audrey woke twice in the night but settled well after her feed.

I started my Nap Bootcamp again today. She gets so overtired and really needs my help to wind down so now that I have her on a feeding routine (which is pretty much set in stone 7.30am, 10.15, 2, 5/6.15), working out when she needs to sleep is much easier. It seems to make her a happier baby too.

Nap 1 is never a problem. She seems almost grateful when I swaddle her and place her in her crib at 8.15am and sleeps soundly for 45mins. Nap 2 over lunch is often much trickier. She needs almost 2 hours we've worked out, but wakes screaming after about an hour and can be really distraught. I am often caught out and about for this and this is when her meltdowns happen I've deduced. It would be much easier to manage this at home but I refuse to be housebound.

Today I pretty much walked to Salford Quays (which was impressive considering its a 10km walk there and back) and she slept for an hour and a half of it. As soon as I wheeled back across Chorlton borders, she woke screaming. I nursed her back to sleep but it took 20mins and involved me letting her cry it out a little in the pram. Tough.

Spent the afternoon in the nursery playing with her and sorted some clothes out at the same time. Had a massive chuck out of clothes that no longer fit me and it felt really cathartic. Involved Audrey in the task by playing with coloured scarves over her and letting her pull at various accessories. She seemed pretty happy, napping on and off and kicking about on her changing mat while I toiled away!

Felt a real sense of achievement at managing to sort my wardrobe and look after a baby. Am easily pleased these days.
