Lie back, take a moment...

We drove up to Hidcote Gardens today, in the North Cotswolds. Lovely sunny day, windows down, gentle drive, trying for 60mpg in the Audi (failing, but only just). I've a folder full of landscapes and flower photo's, some of which might make it to Flickr over the next few days, but my favourite moments were lying underneath these fantastic standing folk, watching the sunlight flicker through the barely moving branches way way above. The 11-24F4 really lets you get the feel for these tall birches. And I had a decent time under them, while Janet went hunting for where she'd put down her sunglasses! Happily she found them, and stopped my spinning in the dappled wilderness (see extra)
