Saint Mary's Church, Wheaton Aston
A rare opportunity to go out on a work related visit. St. Mary's Church has undergone significant changes in 2010 to make it more of a community building.
The pews were removed, a new level floor laid, the building rewired, a fully equipped kitchen, disabled toilet and a sound and vision system installed and the building decorated throughout. Carpet and upholstered seats were added to complete the transformation.
The mosaic you can see in the foreground was part of environmental improvements carried out a decade earlier.
One of the village's claims to fame is that it is the most northerly point in the UK where the Snake's Head Fritillary can be found growing in the wild.
