Sark Day 5 - Alfie's sheds

We were privileged today to meet a true Sark character Alfie and were invited to look around his sheds containing a treasure trove of items including hundreds of bottles collected over the years. Needless to say they are a photographers Nirvana.
 Alfie took great pleasure in showing us his treasures and enthralled us with his reminiscences of life on the island and the war years when the Channel Islands were occupied by the German army.

Later in the morning we were invited by the lighthouse keeper to visit Sark's lighthouse which is normally closed to the public.  The lighthouse is to be completely updated in a few months time so we were happy to photograph the old interior workings before they are removed. These photos will be passed on to the keeper and historian and will no doubt be a valuable record in the future.
