Rooftop Drinks

This cool rooftop cafe was just over the road from our apartment. We'd already had tapas in a nearby square serenaded by an elderly man playing the trumpet. The sheer joy of life of the Spanish manifests itself everywhere. - little kids practising their football skills, elderly matrons parading their chique clothes and elegant coiffures and the unique style of the young.

Jody had brought postcards of a photo of Steve and we all wrote a memory, (mostly funny), of him. We plan to keep this practice going when we're all together. And talk of next year's trip veers between Madrid again or Valencia. Jody is fluent in Spanish but the rest of us have to try to master Spanish before then and Jody must do the same with Dutch (as he's going to be living there). A fabulous weekend!
