British Orienteering Championships

The British Orienteering Championships are taking place in south Lakeland and friend Puffin and family were all taking part. Puffin persuaded me to join her in a non-competitive class. The 1:10000 map is initially difficult to interpret as the level of detail is far greater than the 1:25000 OS maps I am very familiar with. It proved to be a very enjoyable few hours and we made it around the course finding all the control points. Our time wasn't fast as we walked rather than ran over the difficult terrain.
