Garden Makers

Last summer I noticed that one of my neighbours had a new van. On the side it read 'Be A Garden Maker' and I wondered what it was all about. The next time I saw the neighbour, Nikki, she told me she'd opened a business just south of Wigglesworth called Garden Makers and, of course, I said I'd go across one weekend.

And I did mean it, of course, but the weeks turned into months and I felt bad that I hadn't been more supportive and gone to visit. Recently, the Minx has been saying we ought to get to a garden centre and I finally put two and two together and today we set off, along with Dan, Abi and the miniMinx, to go and see what's what.

It's a really impressive place and probably very exciting if you are a keen gardener, but my favourite part was all the reclaimed bits and pieces. There was, for example, a beautiful railway lantern, whose only flaw was its price (£240). There was a barn full of this stuff, including a load of animal skulls and taxidermy that I think would appeal to a couple of friends of mine.

Whilst I'm not a huge fan off stuffed animals myself, I have to say that they do make a massive contribution to my ability to take a satisfactory wild life photo :-)
