Cut to the Chase
Evening all.
I hadn't seen the dog walker.
Normally i was very vigilant when doing these things, but this time i hadn't spotted her until it was too late.
"morning" i said, trying to sound nonchalant, (it is difficult to pull off nonchalant when you're standing on top of a hay bale with a camera in the corner of a deserted field, in your work gear)
she looked up at me, clearly unimpressed and more than a little startled..
"what you doing up there?" she demanded,( fairly haughtily i felt, even if it was her field)
"fathers for justice, rural section" i offered in as normal a voice as possible.
she gave me a little harrumph and asked me why i wasn't fastened to a tall building?
"Because...er,er,well....i'm just practicing to make sure i can manage heights!"
"ooh i know what you mean" she exclaimed, " i get dizzy standing on the kitchen steps"
and suitably happy with the explanation, both her and the dog waddled away.
very British start to the day i felt.
night all
