Gull Island
The weather started off well, but went downhill later, only for the sun to re-appear mid afternoon by which time we were back indoors! So frustrating when you can't plan ahead.
We took MiL out for lunch at a local garden centre, a major logistics exercise in itself when you have to borrow a wheelchair, negotiate your way between the plants and through the shop to the cafe at the very back. Moving half the chairs to make a gangway through wasn't easy either, but we eventually found a table, only for MiL to state she could only manage half a sandwich:-). Grrrrr!
We drove down to the seafront by the Solent, where I managed a quick shot of the gulls on this manmade island and then it started to pour, so we headed home. A very long afternoon which left us hoarse from shouting at poor MiL, not because we were cross but because she is deaf as a post even with her hearing aids in!
It's been lovely to see her again, but we are worn out now and looking forward to starting the journey home tomorrow:-)
