First Time Parents...

...but not a first time grandmother.

Our friend Linda (the grandma) invited us over after church to see her new grandbaby. I think this is her tenth.

On March 20th, little Charles McKenna came into this world, making him almost 6 weeks old. The new baby's parents are Linda's daughter Liana, along with her husband Cory.

Seeing "little Liana" as a mother gave me very mixed feelings. On the one hand...is there ANYTHING  more miraculous than the miracle of birth? I'm SO happy for Liana and her husband. But...what about that other hand?

Liana's daddy was our friend Mike. He was our friend, our travelling buddy, and he thought (rightly so) that he was family. But, years ago...lung cancer took Mike from us. So, it was kind of sad to see new life...without thinking about old life.

The situation is helped by the fact that we REALLY like grandma Linda's new husband Robert...so...let us just celebrate...a new life...a new baby boy...a miracle straight from God.
