Meet Maximus...
Backblip...
Today I finally got to meet baby Max who is six weeks old and is absolutely scrumptious.
I had been looking forward to photographing him but I spent so long cuddling him the light was almost gone by the time I got my camera out but who cares, the cuddles were far more important and enjoyable and oh that new baby smell. So intoxicating!
Max's mum is Rebecca (front left in this charming photo :-)) who is my niece Jennifer's best friend. We have know Rececca since she was at nursery with Jennifer and she has come on holiday with us all many times. She is part of the family so I was very happy and relieved when this little bundle arrived safely six weeks ago. Poor Becca didn't have an easy time but she is doing well and is a natural mother. Watching her with Max brought lump to my throat as it just seems like minutes ago since she was little more than a baby herself. It was a stark reminder of how quickly time passes.
Becca and Max weren't our only visitors as Ele, Kenny, my niece Jennifer, nephew Andrew and his girlfriend Nikki all came along. They were here to help get Alan in the pool and have a fun pool session with him. They all went in the pool apart from me and Nikki. Becca left Max with us while she sat on the edge of the pool with her legs in the water. Nikki and I were more than happy to amuse Max for the time they were in the pool.
Afterwards we had a big family dinner sitting at our new dining table. Oh how I love making memories such as these :-)
Nikki persuaded Andrew to hold Max and he was lovely with him. Quite smitten I would say, which is a good sign as Nikki is definitely feeling broody!
Extra photos show Max showing off his dimple, Andrew holding Max (I have a photo of David holding Andrew exactly like this when he was a baby. I must find it and archive blip it) and Max's tiny little had on Andrew's.
Can't wait till Max has had his immunisations and can get in the pool too. Definite blip material :-))
