Paralympic Marathon

We hadn't realised we would have the chance to see some of the Paralympic Marathon when we booked our tickets for Dmitri Hvorosovsky's recital in London.

Before breakfast we went down to the Embankment and watched quite a bit of the first Marathon. Wonderful atmosphere. A Japanese man who must have been well over 80 ran alongside waving his flag. A policeman told us all to dance along to the Irish band.

Magnificent serious athletes.

What a privilege to have been able to share a brief hour or so of this amazing event!
