Nikko National Park

Glorious weather at the snow line in one of Japan's best loved national parks. This view taken through the window of a residence of a previous  British Ambassador in Japan. He chose a great location an the shores of Lake Chuzenji-ko and his legacy is a great spot for a very expensive cup of tea and a fair attempt at a cheese scone. The whole area is quite beautiful with upland marshes, stunning lakes and several volcanoes - none of them presently active thankfully. In the late afternoon we headed back to Tokyo in time to see a beautiful sunset over distant Mt Fuji and get tuition on preparing chicken teriyaki for dinner. Shiny and grilled actually.
