Blown away

Blown away not only by the wind but by the amazing scenery. We went for a very windy walk at Ardnave. We were just going to pop over the sand dunes and have a quick look at the sea but decided to walk abit further almost to Ardnave Point. We did struggle against the wind and the sand blowing in our faces but it was worth it . We walked down to the white sand and walked along the edge of the turquoise water and watched the white waves bringing the tide in. We followed the cows foot steps, we found the cows on the way back and a huge bull so walked pretty quickly at that point,hares darted out nd made us jump, I found a piece of a skull and we collected bits of slate. An easier walk back to the car with the wind behind us.
On to Kilnave church and cross. The cross dates to around 750AD and has been worn by the weather making it an interesting shape. 
On to RSPB Reserve at Loch Gruinart. We went to the hides where we saw lots of waders and ducks including a really nice pair of Shovelers.
The area in front of the hide is very flat with water channels running throughout.1000's of geese arrive in the Winter including Barnacle geese, we did see a few.
A walk through the woodland full of Spring flowers finished the day and now feeling shattered.
