Acropolis Now
Caught the ferry and bus to Athens, early enough to watch the sun rise over the mountain this morning as the ferry sailed away from Skyros.
Athens feels like a dirtier version of Marrakech but they keep the pollution better hidden. Then you find the winding streets leading to the Acropolis with lovely wee cafes and dogs hanging out on the window ledge, sigh. And at the top of a big bit of rock, there are lots of bits of fancy rock. Some of it is still holding together and other bits are being gradually reinstated (although not the ones at the British Museum).
It is incredible, and the new museum is great too, but the dog beat it to the blip.
