Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

Body Ham

I was up at 6 am, spot of yoga in my nightie then back to bed where I slept till 10 am. Two days of motorways and visiting had taken its toll. After a brief foray for food, we sheltered from the blazing heat, reading, blipping and chatting until the temperature became more reasonable. Then off to Bodiam, hoping to capture the castle (well, not actually besieging it you understand) with the sunset behind it. I realised when we got there that the famous views of the castle from this angle with the sunset behind must be taken in winter, or with subterfuge/photoshop. Anyway, the evening light was pleasant and the area was peaceful - just some traction engine enthusiasts, fishermen and hop-pickers about.

There are some hebe in the garden here and they are covered with da hover fly I haven't seen at home. Nearly made the blip, but none of the images were sharp enough. Howver, they we're good enough for me to tentatively identify them as Ferinandean cuprea (copper bottomed hover fly!).

GOOD THINGS:
A much needed rest and time to ourselves
The dark skies and the stars
The huge dragonfly which joined us inside for a while, before bing rescued by the resourceful Professor.

EXERCISE DIARY:
Pathetic little stroll in the evening and some yoga. Must do better
