Farmers' relief

We haven't had much rain this past week, and a fair amount of sun, so the farmers have been able to get out in the fields at last.
We went for a cycle from Lunan Bay to Montrose and then round Montrose Basin and back to the car in beautiful sunshine, though also a strongish breeze against us on the way back. Everywhere was the smell of freshly cut corn and the sounds of harvesting (and grain driers as we wnet past farms!).
The sea was also a beautiful blue but bales were deffinitely the theme of the ride!
Before that we did Parkrun. I didn't get a particularly good time but I hadn't tried for one. Originally I had thought I would be able to go for it but I wasn't well with some mystery bug earlier in the week and, although I felt fine, I decided it was wiser to take it easy - shame as it wasn't too muddy and so would have been a good day for more speed.
After the ride we went to the Caribbean themed afternoon arranged by a community group and had some excellent spicy rice.
Mr Rat says his pic will be very similar!
