Good bye Arran, Hello Islay

We were up early ,packed and out the door by 7.15am and on our way to Lochranza to catch the ferry to Kintyre. We stopped at Lamlash to eat two ice lollies we had left. The sun was shining brightly on the water and there were more boats this time.
Over the hills we spotted deer and a snipe. Deer near the castle were having a rest.
We walked round the castle with wonderful blue skies above us.A cuckoo could be heard from the trees. We parked the car in the ferry queue and then went for another walk. We had a bacon roll and tea from the Sandwich Station and then it was time a leave. A good crossing and we had enough time to drive the long and winding road to Campbeltown, fill up with petrol and return the other side with about 30 minutes to wait till our next ferry to Isaly. Another good crossing. the footie was on in the background, we shared fish and chips, stood outside on a breezy deck and listened to a small group of musicians playing on one of the decks.
We arrived in lovely sunshine which stayed until sunset so after we found where we were staying we went exploring and to get some provisions. We found the first of the Whisky distilleries and then another three all looking great with the blue sky behind. There was a local wedding  earlier in the day, we saw the flowers at the church gate and people dressed in kilts, and one distillery was closed for the reception.
A walk down the road to see the sunset and when darkness fell we were amazed at the zillions of stars that filled the sky.
Seen hen harriers, buzzards, skylarks, deer and a hare already :)
