Lavender bees

Today's physio sessions were to take place at Rillbank Terrace - their premises - rather than on the ward to see if the more private setting would allow Alex to try to get up and onto crutches again. Neither of the sessions resulted in him getting on to the stairs.

But the 'other agenda' to get us out of hospital kicked in. Which is when we started to find out about another area of NHS logistics - patient transport. As Alex will not be able to climb the steps to our house, we need help to get home. This means we can't be discharged until there is transport available tomorrow.

I'd already packed our bags before we found this out, so I took out only what we'd need for overnight and sent all of our other possessions back home with our evening visitors.

The lavender is outside the physiotherapy offices and smelled glorious as we sat watching the bees and waiting for our appointment.
