Broomstick training

Had a fantastic birthday at Alnwick castle. We did the dragon quest, broomstick training and watched a falconry display as well as wandering round the castle and the amazing gardens. Gorgeous orchard of cherry blossom with big swing seats to chill out in.

This morning started perfectly with a dog walk on a deserted beach in the sunshine. Nell met her scotty dog friends she saw yesterday and behaved really well. People are so friendly up here. People chat to you and the next time you see them they act like you're an old friend. Pretty sure that wouldn't happen in Leicestershire!

Back at the cottage this arvo we watched finding Dory whilst Mike took the dogs on the beach again and we had tea from a teapot and birthday cake. Then out to Alnmouth for an Italian feast. Nom nom. Best day to start the last year of my thirties!
