Between fen and mountains

Ploughing in the caulis

I spent the morning doing a house call, working in the shop and in the market.  The afternoon was spent in the garden.  I did get out for a walk around the lanes.  It is always a shame to see a crop chopped up and returned to the earth but that was the fate of these cauliflowers.  I was surprised as anyone with the piece of political opportunism announced at lunchtime.  Perhaps I should emigrate, not to France which has its own political turmoil; maybe to Scotland if they would have me!  I think the cold might put me off though!
