Paralympics Day Two

Today it was off to the Paralympics again, this time with tickets to the Aquatics Centre to watch some swimming with the Mrs and my mother.

It was another inspiring and fun day, with lots of happy games makers (pictured) there to help, and everyone in a top mood (the beautiful weather helping lots).

The swimming pool was fantastic and we had a good view. We saw Josef Craig get a Gold medal for Great Britain and Northern Ireland and loads of other great races with fantastic swimmers. The Japanese lad who won a Gold was great, and the Mexican Juan Reyes Gonzalez was incredible (he only has one leg but flys through the pool).

Probably my highlight though was seeing how excited my wife was. She is a big swimmer and used to compete in Colombia so for her seeing the swimming was brilliant. She was beaming all the time, sitting on the edge of her seat and clapping and shouting. You should have seen her go crazy when she realised that a Colombian swimmer was taking part!! Priceless :-D

We rounded the day off with a walk to the Park Live area where they have big screens and we watched David Weir and local boy Jonnie Peacock win their golds. It was packed and everyone went mad, it was fantastic.

I wish we were going back for another day...
