People on a Bridge

Secession

backblip

As the weather was a bit iffy today, we visited museums instead of frolicking outdoors. This one was on top of my list, the Secession museum.  A small building by today's standards, it has most graceful proportions and features well-lit and highly functional exhibit spaces.

The painting above is a fragment of a 3-walled frieze by Klimt, inspired by Richard Wagner's interpretation of Beethoven's 9th symphony, and represents man's quest for happiness.

This may not be the best picture I have taken that day, but I like the insanity of it: a visitor (my Mom in this case) photographing a paining, while being photographed. Quite meta, just like the image itself: visual impression, (based on interpretation), of an abstract concept (joy/happiness) generated initially in music and words.
