'beardie'
A glorious day in the west. A coolish breeze, warm and bright sun and very blue sky, just perfect for a new found walk around the Lesmurdie Falls and a bonanza of unexpected finds.
Not only a grove of quandong trees (the native peach and true 'bush tucker') and a tiny dung beetle rolling a large pellet of roo poo along some very rocky terrain but today's great treat was finding this bearded dragon soaking up the sun.
The Pogonas have rows of tiny spines around the chin and throat which bristle out when threatened (hence the beard)...this one was so laid back in the heat only the beady eye tracked me and camera around!
(The quandongs too were most unexpected and am looking forward to seeing them fruit, perhaps even a jar of jam might be in the offing.)
