Empty Nest

It is hard to spot, but sitting snuggly in this magnolia tree, is a bird nest.  It must have been there last spring but I didn't notice it until the leaves fell off the tree in the autumn.  A few evenings ago I saw a couple birds flitting around looking at the nest but there have been no signs of interest in it since then.  I wonder if the birds which used it last year will return - that would be exciting.
