Hello - from the other side

The opposite viewpoint to yesterday's. A short run by myself down the Tyne to East Linton and back up via Pencraig before breakfast. Then Dad came by to drop off maps and walking guides and binoculars. Then John arrived and after a bit of watching the kids playing their own variant of badminton we set off for Hailes Castle to explore in the glorious sunshine. Exploration accomplished we walked along the Tyne to East Linton (again for me!) and to Smeatons for a long relaxed lunch outside involving much soup, many sandwiches and piles of scones.

Afterwards we headed back to the cottage via the EL sausage award winning butcher to buy, well, award winning sausages. Then a welcome cup of tea before farewells to John as he returned to Edinburgh.

After the delicious award winning sausages (definitely can recommend the pancetta, pork and leek, if you ever find yourself in East Linton in need of sausage inspiration) W and I set off for Haddington in search of a AA meeting for Z which was supposed to be happening at Herdmanflat (there's a name!) Hospital but the search turned out to be frustratingly fruitless. So, instead we repaired to Tesco to search for essential rations (Mini Eggs) and a birthday card for dad.
