A Day at the Seaside
Off to the coast this morning - first stop Eyemouth, where it just so happened that a Yarn Festival was taking place. I enjoyed looking but came away with just 100 grams of Blue Faced Leicester tops, which may eventually become a scarf. Eventually!
Then we headed to the harbour to see what there was to see. Not much seal activity, but there was a trio of eider ducks fishing in the mouth of the river. ( Above).
We had a great aerial view of them diving and almost appearing to fly under water, emerging at some distance and after what seemed like quite a while, usually with a small fish in their bills.
We checked out the boats, had a crab salad roll for lunch, and then headed to St Abbs for more harbour-walking and tea and cake. We left wondering if we should book a cottage here for a holiday - it's only 40 miles from home, but it's a different world. (Extras)
