One more time

Last night, we were given the results of the last camera club competition of the year.  I was most impressed with the feedback provided by the judge.  She went through all entries giving a critique of each one before delivering the mark.  And the feedback was constructive - she pointed out the positive aspects of each shot (and there are always some) before suggesting ways it could be improved (and there are always some).  I didn't get into the prize winners but I understand why.

I was wary of entering competitions when I joined the club last August but have come to appreciate their value in obtaining feedback.  Much of what I have learned this year has come though these competitions.  Priorities for learning include - working on a wider range of subject (garden flower shots are fine but ....), keep on working on the basics, learn a lot more about Photoshop and post-processing in general, figure out a way to get better prints.

Couldn't resist another lichen macro.
