Pasqueflower
Tipped off by a camera club member I went off to the Devil's Dyke near Newmarket to photograph these beautiful wild flowers. The pasqueflower blooms around Easter: hence the name "Pasque" (meaning "like Paschal", of Easter).
"...a fair claim to being the most dramatically and exotically beautiful of all English plants."
- Geoffrey Grigson, "The Englishman's Flora"
