Riding the Sand Dunes
My sister and I had a very busy day. We left right after breakfast to visit her sons and friends who were camping in the desert at the Imperial Sand Dunes in California. It sounds far away but it was only about an hour's drive. They go there to ride ATVs on the dunes. The young man in my blip wasn't part of their group but I really liked the shot. We left there and stopped for lunch at Lutes Casino, which really isn't a casino but a really fun restaurant with crazy signs and statues and decorations everywhere you look. I took tons of pictures but my favorite was of the proprietor, Bob Lutes (in my extra). From there we went to the Yuma Territorial Prison State Park and had a very interesting tour and many more photos. Our last stop was Gateway Park on the Colorado River where we cooled off in the shade and soaked our tired feet in the water. Tomorrow we are going to do some shopping in Los Algodones, Mexico which is also very close to Yuma. Hoping for some interesting photo ops there. Sorry that I really don't have time to visit journals until I get home next week. I miss keeping up with everyone and seeing your blips but there are just not enough hours in the day!
