Sculthorpe Sunset
I went for a Woodcock walk today at Sculthorpe Moor with my great friends G and M. I debated whether or not to take my camera as it started at 7pm, but decided to take it anyway - and forgot my binoculars!
It was a lovely warm evening and we saw two woodcocks fly over the hide as we tucked into soup and a roll (the first I'd seen). The guide told us what to listen out for, namely a high pitched squeak which we heard quite a few times. We saw another fly over later. We also briefly saw a water vole in the ranger's light as we walked back - see the Extra for a blurry photo - the first I've seen. It was a lovely evening and I've signed up for the Dawn Chorus walk in May starting at 5am!!!
