FLY HIGH
Love this fab photo of my nephew.
Today was the day to share memories of this lad and to say our personal goodbyes.
Left London at 4:20 AM...quick driver swop over after 2:30hrs...then an overpriced motorway breakfast stop at sun rise!!!
We made it to Newcastle by 10:00.
We drove to my sister's and then onto the crematorium for a beautiful service. My sister's eulogy to her young son was perfect....she described him as having lots of good ideas such as letting the goats out at the farm on his first school trip, cooking eggs in the microwave for so long smoke filled the house. She said he was like a firework....noisy colourful sometimes unpredictable but always left an impression.....she shared some stories to make us laugh and cry but the focus was on love and a plea to his young friends to never carry weapons.
My young nieces also spoke so well too...they were amazing.
Music..."Where is the love?" was very apt too.
After a time to chat at the local cricket club The Rev and O headed home and Mum and I headed back to the hotel as we are staying for a couple of days.
We enjoyed a very tasty meal with a very very attentive waiter....he did make us laugh. Then at 9:00 we went back to my sister's for a cuppa and some quiet time together....we eventually got to bed about 11:30....a very very long day!
