So Nice To Eat, So Nice To Taste...
When I was at Primary School this massive supermarket was built in town. I'm not really sure about what was here before, but there was a railway line ran behind where this was built, and there were advertising hoardings up.
The supermarket existed previously in a little shop across the road. Liptons. It was Liptons when it moved across the street, and upstairs it had a cafeteria.
On a Friday, while we were at Primary School behind and across the road, we could go to Liptons for our lunch as a treat. For 20p (or there about) we could have chips and flat sausage. What a treat!
In the late 1980, a new supermarket was built, in the car park of this supermarket. It was even bigger and lovelier, but no cafeteria. That supermarket isn't a supermarket any more. It's an Oxfam, New Look, Superdrug, and Boots. We got a new supermarket about 6 years ago, and it has a "Cafe", Dry Cleaning, Salad Bar, Delicatessen..... we are now cosmopolitan!
