Sun setting behind Lundy Island
Today the weather gods were good to us. We woke up to fine rain blowing in the air, you could see it drifting in waves. So what to do, we started by making sausage, bacon and egg baguettes, not a bad start i thought.
The good lady wife came up with a plan, we were going to visit the little village of Cloverlly. As we arrived the rain stopped and the sun was trying to show its face, so that was good. The village is set at the bottom of a very steep cobbled path, going down was hard on the feet, so i wasnt looking forward to the journey back. The place was lovely, so picturesque, there was even a woman sat outside her house with a Bengal Eagle owl on her arm, she was gorgeous, the owl i mean.
We finally arrived at the bottom and had a walk around the harbour and over to a water fall coming down from the cliffs, I just needed Myleene Klass to be there under the water washing herself down and the day would of been perfect, lol.
Soon it was time for the epic journey back up the cobbled path, as this was an epic journey for me my good lady wife bought me a cream tea halfway up, and it was lovely. Finally we made it to the top just as the rain started to fall again.
The weather closed in on the way back to Croyde and the visibility was very poor. But the closer we got to Croyde the better the weather got. The clouds were clearing and the sun was coming out, so there was only one thing to do, have a bbq.
After that i suggested to my daughter to grab a belly board and come down to the sea with me. So there we were on the beach, i was watching a wonderful sunset and she was playing in the sea, pretty tidy end to the day i think.
