Romanovs & Revolution: the end of monarchy

Today we visited the Dutch Hermitage, in Amsterdam, to see an exhibition about the last Russian Tsar, his family, the revolution and Russia at that time. Very interesting.

Entering the exhibition we arrived in a kind of shopping street, very luxurious, as the shops were for the wealthy in Russia at that time. Every window displaying a fact. One window with fashion, one with theater, one with Faberge eggs, one with Faberge warfare, one about the Japanese war, etc. This large area was very striking and atmospheric.

Continuing on the first floor the exhibition turned more informative, relaying how the Tsar met his wife, fought to marry her, their married life, the several revolts, war with Japan, Rasputin at court, etc. Ending with the revolution and the murder of the family. Very interesting. In the extra some photos of items on display on the first floor. The first extra is one of the displays in the shopping street, about ballet.

The Dutch Hermitage has a great cooperation with the Russian Hermitage, allowing access to it's vaults and using the contents for exhibitions over here.
