Pentlands
We awoke to another day of glorious sunshine (two in a row - when did that last happen?), so bagged the car club car for the afternoon and went out to the Pentlands. We strolled round the Red Moss and then to the hide at Bavelaw - there were lots of birds about, with a couple of little grebes being particularly vocal (and they have a very special call!). There was also a strange sound going on that we both thought at first was perhaps someone using a chainsaw a very long way away. Or perhaps a distant drone......Turned out to be coming from the reed beds at our feet which were hoachin' with frogs in full cry. See extra for a couple of them with a definite gleam in their eyes.
