My Life and Times in NYC

A Date with Butternut Squash

It was going to be a LONG day. Go into the city from Brooklyn by 11 am to get the keys for our apartment and then hopefully get something nice for Kim and Rupadidi from Pottery Barn and a Mickey Mouse for Dylan and then head right back. Unload all of Sang's boxes (all heavy ones) from the garage, load her stuff and mine into the mover's van, drive all the way back to the city to our apartment, unload everything and then dash to the subway and then to the LIRR station to catch a train to New Jersey to make it my 6:30 pm.

We left only at 3pm. Unloaded Sang's boxes. Got the keys from the city. Walked. Walked. No time for gifts. Back to Brooklyn. Loaded the van (thanks to Kim). Speedy goodbyes. Traffic traffic traffic in Manhattan (why do we only complain of Bombay). Reached apartment at 6:30 pm. Hurried. Made the 7:35 train. In Jersey by 8:30.

Sang's pasta with butternut squash, sage, butter, cinnamon and garlic kept me going through the day.
