A spire

While this started like a usual Saturday with shopping and visiting elderly relatives, it did not end up that way.

On a day that would have been a good one in June - temperature up to 17oC, blue skies, light zephyrs, - I spent several hours with my wife in showrooms looking at floor coverings, tiles, shower trays etc.

We got back early afternoon and enjoyed the sunshine. Then with our two youngsters and our dog I headed for Blackford Hill with its views over Edinburgh. As the sun set it picked up the spire of our local church with the backdrop of Arthur's Seat.

The gorse was in full bloom too - see extra.
