The Bärbl
Back to finishing-off report writing duties for Aberdeen and just stopped for the day - so thought I would be lazy and just play around with this new (and free) Retro Camera iphone App.
The App lets you take in the style of various classic cameras, and this is the Bärbl - an East German camera it says of circa 1951 from Leipzig. Known for it's low saturation and neutral colours making pictures look almost black and white (it says).
Talking of old things, this is my shot of our rather crammed mantelpiece. It includes pictures of J age 6 months to left taken 1992; Step-Grandson Kai sat in a giant cracked egg and aged similar to the centre taken 2009; and the backdrop is a framed Year-3 college scheme of mine from 1983 ('Design A Tea House for Dunham Park in the Style of Charles Voysey').
I may be getting on, but at least not as old as the Bärbl.
Postscript: Coincidentely, Kempy sent me his Photoshop scam of him with a British record caught Barbel today - seen here on my new photoblog. Sign of a desperate man I think.
