A walk on the wild side

Took an afternoon walk up through Karangahake gorge. The river and old walkway run deep in the gorge with hills and cliffs looking down. It was delightfully cool under the pungas and trees. This area was a site of gold mining in the 1890s and much of the old machinery is still scattered about (see extra).
