Was it all worth it?

It's a busy couple of weeks here at The Kiltwalk as we gear up for the Angus event on Sunday October 7th and this week we announce next year's Kiltwalk dates!!

We had hoped to announce a few other exciting things we've been up to however that needs to wait just one more week before all is revealed.

So all of that is the future and we thought it was time to pause and provide you all with a bit of an update with regards to what has been achieved this year as it's more than impressive.

Walking 26 miles for Scotland's Children's Charities isn't the easiest way of fundraising and sadly many of our walkers are doing so for loved ones they have either lost, or fear losing due to their illness.

For those of us who do it because we want to help Scotland's Kids then its pretty emotional stuff too, however if ever a picture captured the feeling of achievement as you cross that finishing line, then for me this one does. I've not had the pleasure of meeting any of the two pictured above, however I think it tells you all about the emotion associated with taking part in The Kiltwalk.

If you were to put a caption bubble around today's Blipfoto then perhaps one would be saying to the other "well, was it all worth it?" and to answer that we'll let the figures speak for themselves

The Hampden to Loch Lomond and associated Wee Walk has raised a magical £213,000 while Speyside has raised an incredible £147,000

That's a grand total of £360,000 so far, which is a quite unbelievable amount and when you add that to the two previous years events then The Kiltwalk has raised in excess of £500,000 for our nations children.

So Hampden and Speyside Kiltwalkers, take a bow.

All we can say is "well done to all and thanks again for help making a difference" and to answer the question of "was it all worth it? . . . . then damn right it was.
