Naked Man Orchid

Our first day out here in the Algarve has been hot, 25C and clear blue skies with a southerly breeze. We visited the coastal lagoon at Salgados, which is a nature reserve.
There were glossy ibis, avocet, purple swamp hen, black winged stilt and a wonderful view of a pair of hoopoes displaying .
Then on to our happy valley to see how the orchids are this year. The mirror orchids are plentiful and lovely and fresh. Also yellow bee orchid, somber, bumblebee, and the biggest naked man I have ever seen! If you zoom in on the photo you will see its aptly named!
A quick visit to the supermarket and then home for martinis in the late afternoon sunshine.
