The Salt Barn

Today we walked through the Lymington - Keyhaven Nature Reserve by mudflats and salt marshes. Saw lots of wildlife in the lakes including egrets, shelducks, ringer plovers and godwits.
It is a beautiful landscape alongside the Solent and looking across to the Isle of Wight. Our 13k walk was marred by the very strong cold winds and at times it was difficult to keep our feet on the ground.
The Salt Barn was originally used in the production of salt, which was produced in this area from the middle ages until 1865. This tranquil wildlife haven was once an industrial landscape.

My extra is the Lymington Open Air Sea Water Baths, the oldest lido in Britain , built in 1833.
