Printing Press

Printmaking day 1
Introduction in the studio.
Sketching ... we went to the harbour.
The rest of the day was printing with oil based inks and watercolour weight papers, using this 100 year old superb heavy printing press, and a modern lighter version. We made prints today using natural materials (eg leaves and grasses) as masks and textural printing 'blocks', and also cut paper stencils from drawings made from our morning sketches.
We had a walk around Ullapool this evening before the rain came on to clear our heads after a very busy and productive day :-)
