My Kitchen Rules

My Dear Fellow,

I made the mistake of watching this show today. Well, maybe it wasn't a mistake. It's an Aussie cooking programme a bit like a cross between "Come Dine With Me" in that lots of Aussie couples host dinner parties and score each other. But it is also a bit like "Masterchef" in that they are also judged by proper chefs.

The ladies all love the French judge called Manu. He has a catchphrase, "Where ees the soss?" because - being French - he loves sauces. Whenever he says it the lady contestants come over all unnecessary.

Manu and the show seem to have lit a fire in Er Indoors. We are having Princess Normal & her husband round for dinner next week. There has been talk of salted caramel and Amaretti. And then we moved on to "plating technique".

It's actually sort of fun. I haven't properly cooked for anyone for ages. I'm really looking forward to it, and it's even more fun now that Er Indoors has "My Kitchen Rules" fever too.

In other news I was appalled with myself yesterday for having a bit of a blub after watching "Once". Honestly, sometimes it is like my willy has fallen right off.
