TOP AND . . . TAIL

Steam Locomotive 61264 leads a double header on the Whitby Flyer today. Pictured here passing Ruswarp and right on time, this 4-6-0 engine was built in 1947 and is usually based on the NYMR.

At the rear was a Thompson Class 2-6-0, engine 76084, pictured in my extra. 76084 was built at Horwich in 1957 and was used mainly to pull mixed traffic.
